Community Health Northwest Florida’s Walk-in Care, Primary Care and Pharmacy at 14 W. Jordan St. in Pensacola will relocate on Monday, Aug. 29, to their new patient care home at 1400 N. Palafox St.

A former Labcorp office, the expansive 16,000 square foot facility on N. Palafox has undergone extensive renovations, including the creation of 18 exam rooms, phlebotomy and radiology departments, two large, comfortable waiting areas and a 1,000 square foot pharmacy with drive-through, all of which will comfortably accommodate a large quantity of patients for services offered. The new interior space is modern and bright, and the building is conveniently located on the ECAT transportation route.

“We have been in that neighborhood for 30 years, so it was important that we keep a footprint in the community that we have always called home,” said Chandra Smiley, Community Health CEO. “The expanded space will allow us to serve more people through walk-in and primary care, and the easy access of a drive-through pharmacy will be convenient to patients.”

Community Health’s Long History in North Hill Palafox Corridor

Community Health Northwest Florida, formerly Escambia Community Clinics, has been embedded in this neighborhood since its founding in 1992. In April of 2014, flooding rendered ECC’s Main Site at 2200 N. Palafox inoperable, forcing them to move both Primary Care and Administrative offices to a new location. Within two days of the flood, ECC’s Primary Care was back up and running, seeing patients at the 14 W. Jordan Street Midtown Office Complex, home of ECC’s Walk-in Care at that time. Jordan Street remained the organization’s headquarters until becoming Community Health Northwest Florida in 2018 and moving to 2315 W. Jackson Street.

Community Health Northwest Florida’s Walk-in Care at Palafox will be open to the public, regardless of primary care provider or insurance. Open seven days a week, the hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Comprehensive Healthcare Services Under One Roof

Community Health Northwest Florida’s Primary Care at Palafox will be home to the University of Florida Internal Medicine residents, as well as CHNWF primary care providers, including physicians and nurse practitioners. All providers are accepting new patients at the Palafox location, and appointments can be made by calling 850.444.9449.

New Drive-Thru Pharmacy Expands Services

Community Health Northwest Florida’s Pharmacy at Palafox, formerly Thrif-T Drugs will be open on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

“After more than 40 years at the Midtown Professional Building on Jordan Street, we have the wonderful opportunity to relocate to our new North Hill location at 1400 N. Palafox Street, which allows us to expand our pharmacy services to include a new drive-thru as well as continue our local delivery service,” said Chief Pharmacy Officer Dr. Darrell Miller. “We look forward to welcoming our established and new patients to our beautiful new facility.”

Community Health Northwest Florida accepts Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care plans including Simply Healthcare, Sunshine Health, WellCare and Humana, as well as most commercial insurances.  The health center also provides a sliding fee scale plan for uninsured patients.  For more information, call Community Health Northwest Florida at Palafox at 850.444.9449.
