DON'T DELAY CARE. Choose Community health northwest florida.
Our top priority continues to be the health and well being of you and your family. That is why to reduce exposure and ensure your safety, your doctor’s visits will look and feel a little different!

Here’s What You Can Expect

Pre-screening Before Entering Facilities: All patients, parents and caregivers will be pre-screened for Covid-19 upon arrival to our care sites. Those who are symptomatic or suspected of having Covid-19 will be treated in an area away from other patients.

Only Patients and Essential Visitors Permitted: We are limiting the amount of people in our buildings by asking that patients come to their appointments alone unless assistance is needed. Pediatric patients will, of course, still be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Disinfected Patient Areas: We routinely disinfect patient areas throughout the day, and we’ve installed additional hand sanitizing stations which are readily available throughout our facilities.

Face Coverings Worn by All Providers, Patients & Staff Members: Your provider will continue to give you the personal care needed, while keeping his/her distance when possible, wearing a face mask at all times, and adhering to good hand hygiene practices.

Socially Distanced Waiting Rooms: We’ve reduced the number of chairs in waiting rooms to allow for social distancing. In most cases, you may also choose to remain in your car until the next exam room is ready and your appointment begins.

No Contact with Virtual Visits: You can now schedule a contact-free face-to-face visit through our telehealth services. We accept both new and returning patients for many appointment types, including:

  • Behavioral Health
  • Acute Illness
  • Chronic Disease Management
  • Follow Up Visits
  • Medication Management
  • New Parenting/Pediatric Questions
  • Test Results

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication technologies, such as computers and mobile devices, to access health care services remotely and manage your healthcare. Simply put, if you have a smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access, you are all set to have a face-to-face doctor visit without coming in to the doctor’s office!

More Choices to Get the Care You Need

At Community Health Northwest Florida, it is our goal to provide the very best care to our patients along with various options to improve the quality, efficiency and convenience of this care. We now offer telehealth services to allow our patients to meet with their healthcare providers “virtually”, from the comfort and safety of home.
All You Need is a smartphone, a computer or tablet + an internet connection.

What if you Suspect You Have Covid-19?

Symptoms: According to the CDC, symptoms can appear 2-14 days after you are exposed to the virus. If you are experiencing a fever, cough, or other Covid-19 related symptoms, call your healthcare provider before going to any care clinic or test site.

Facility Screening: If you arrive at one of our facilities and are suspected of having Covid-19, you will be placed in an isolation room immediately upon arrival. A provider will then enter the room with the appropriate PPE to go over your:

  • History
  • Physical
  • Covid-19 Test

You may be asked to use an alternate door when you enter or exit the facility to avoid contact with other patients.

Insurance Coverage: You can be tested for Covid-19 regardless of insurance coverage. If you have insurance, your insurance company will cover the cost of Covid-19 test. Your insurance provider may not cover a Covid-19 antibody test.

Influenza (Flu) Season & Covid-19

The CDC recommends all people six months of age or older get a flu vaccination annually. Yearly vaccination is necessary, as the virus may change from season to season, resulting in the need for frequent vaccine updates. Vaccine protection also declines over time; therefore, it is essential to be vaccinated every year to receive the best protection.

The flu vaccine does not protect you from Covid-19, but can protect you from a severe illness that can cause hospitalizations and even death. In addition, every year, the flu vaccine prevents millions of flu-related doctor visits, reducing your need for this kind of medical care by 40-60 percent. The vaccine also provides benefits such as:

  • Reducing the number of flu-related hospitalizations in children, working adults and older adults
  • Serving as a prevention tool for those with chronic health conditions
  • Can be life-saving for children and adults
  • Protecting you and the people around you

Like Covid-19, the flu is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. Those most at risk of severe flu-related complications are:

  • Babies
  • Young children
  • Older adults
  • People with specific chronic health issues

Protect yourself and your loved ones by scheduling your flu vaccine with Community Health Northwest Florida.
