Samantha Abbott’s approach to healthcare is rooted in compassion, understanding, and a deep commitment to meeting patients exactly where they are — without judgment. Her journey into nursing was shaped by powerful personal experiences growing up in a rural Appalachian community, where she witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of the opioid crisis on individuals, families, and entire communities.
These early experiences ignited Samantha’s passion for helping people navigate mental-health challenges and addiction. She understands that behind every diagnosis is a person with their own unique story, circumstances, and path forward. This perspective informs every aspect of her practice, from initial consultations to ongoing treatment plans.
Samantha earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2020, establishing a strong foundation in comprehensive primary care. Recognizing the critical intersection of physical and mental health — and the urgent need for accessible psychiatric services — she pursued additional training, completing her Post-Master’s Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification at Regis College in 2024.
“I strive to meet each patient where they are, without judgment,” Samantha says, “and with an understanding that every person has their own story.”
This philosophy drives Samantha’s trauma-informed approach to care. She is particularly passionate about advocating for patients with co-occurring substance use disorders, understanding that effective treatment requires addressing both mental health and addiction simultaneously. Her dual certification enables her to provide integrated care that treats the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.
Samantha sees patients at our Milton and Jackson Street locations, providing Adult & Family Care and Psychiatry services. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take the next step in their healing journey.
