Community Health Northwest Florida believes that health care should be available to everyone. And our mobile health units helps make that possible, taking screenings beyond our Escambia and Santa Rosa County locations.
This summer, we’ve continued our partnership with the Area Housing Commission to help make sure children are ready to head back to school in August. We’ve already visited Gonzalez Court and have three more events scheduled.
- July 22: Attucks Court, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 5 to 17. Info: (850) 438-8561, ext. 1124
- July 30: Moreno Court, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 5 to 17. Info: (850) 438-8561, ext. 1131
- August 6: Morris Court, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 4 to 17. Info: (850) 438-8561, ext, 1126
You’ll want to have your ID an insurance information on hand. And bring your appetite as we’ll have cookouts at each event.
Chandra Smiley, CEO of Community Health Northwest Florida, recognizes the benefits of the partnership with Area Housing in providing quality healthcare and getting children prepared for school.
“Back-to-school annual physicals and immunizations are crucial for ensuring the health and well-being of children as they return to the classroom,” Smiley says. “Having our medical mobile units at their campuses makes it convenient and accessible, which fulfills our mission to provide a full range of health and wellness services, regardless of circumstances or barriers.”
Shirley Henderson, Area Housing Commissioner deputy executive, is grateful for the four-year partnership with Community Health of Northwest Florida, working to serve the diverse needs of children and adults throughout Escambia County.
“This collaboration is especially valuable because it unites two essential pillars of community well-being — healthcare, and housing,” Henderson says. “By working together, we ensure that families, especially school-age children, have access to important services such as wellness check-ups and shots, key steps in preparing them for a healthy and successful school year.”
Escambia County students return to school on August 11.
“AHC deeply values this partnership,” Henderson says. “Thank you, Community Health of Northwest Florida, for your continued commitment and partnership. We are truly grateful!”
