Josh Newby brings a combination of executive leadership, communications expertise, and deep community investment to the Community Health Northwest Florida Foundation Board. A Miami native who has made Northwest Florida home, Josh has spent his career at the intersection of public service, advocacy, and strategic communication — making him a natural fit for an organization dedicated to expanding access to healthcare for all.
As CEO of the Council on Aging of West Florida, Josh leads one of the region’s most vital nonprofit organizations, serving older adults and their families across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. In that role, he oversees programs that touch thousands of lives each year, navigating the complex landscape of aging services, community partnerships, and public funding. His day-to-day work demands an understanding of the barriers that underserved populations face — a perspective that aligns directly with Community Health Northwest Florida Foundation’s mission of healthcare within reach.
Josh’s academic background reflects his commitment to purposeful communication. He holds a master’s degree in Political Communication, a field that trained him to connect organizations with the audiences and stakeholders that matter most. That skill set has served him well throughout his career in the nonprofit and public affairs space.
Beyond his professional work, Josh is an active voice in the regional community. He is a Leadership Pensacola alumnus and member of the Florida Public Relations Association, and he serves with the Florida Council on Aging — bringing statewide perspective back to local conversations. He understands how policy decisions made in Tallahassee affect neighborhoods in Pensacola, and he knows how to advocate effectively at every level.
When he’s not at work or in the community, Josh can be found in the weight room, revisiting a classic film, or playing whatever video game his son is currently into — which he’d be the first to admit keeps him humble.
